trip to benidorm

A trip to Benidorm is suitable at any moment in the year because of its privileged weather.

The town of Benidorm counts on not only with 5 kilometers of beaches but also with lots of entertainment and fun for its visitors. Because of this Benidorm is the third most visited destination in Spain after Barcelona and Madrid.

Travelling to Benidorm from Orihuela Costa

Benidorm is located in the north of Alicante province, near Altea, another destination we recommended in before in this blog.

There is a distance of about 130 kilometers from Orihuela Costa. Is really easy to arrive your destination as we are speaking about a big city and main destination.

At the time of writing traveling to Benidorm is free of tolls if you get the AP-7 in Torrevieja (Not in LaZenia).

What to see in Benidorm

There are many reasons to visit Benidorm. We show you some of them.

Playa de Levante

It is the most popular and visible in Benidorm. Its sand is fine and golden, it has an arc shape and in its surroundings you can see big skyscrapers.

The temperature of its waters is warm, where you can enjoy a delicious bath, as well as practice water sports.

Playa de Poniente

It is the recommended beach for the enjoyment of the elderly and families with children as it is very quiet.

Over the last few years Benidorm has focused on fitting out and improving this beach to make it more accessible to visitors.

Aqualandia

Aqualandia is a water park located on the slopes of Sierra Helada, in the municipality of Benidorm. It was inaugurated in 1985. For many years it was the largest water park in Europe.

It has 15 different attractions that can be enjoyed by young and old and a large car park where you can park without any problems.

You can buy your tickets in advance to avoid queues.

Terra Mítica

It’s a theme park of attractions located on the outskirts of the town of Benidorm. The park was founded in 2000 and its attractions are based on the ancient civilizations of the Mediterranean.

It currently has 33 rides and various shows, most of which are performed daily.
The cost of tickets is around 35 euros although it is common to be able to access the park at a lower cost thanks to the many offers available. You can get information about prices and purchase your tickets here.

It has several roller coasters with spectacular routes where you will feel the adrenaline rush. The main attraction of the park is Magnus Colossus, a wooden roller coaster one kilometer long.

Terra Natura and Aqua Natura

Terra Natura is a zoo where various ecosystems of American, European and Asian nature are recreated. Visiting its facilities you can see tigers, rhinos, lions, exotic birds, elephants, snakes and all kinds of herbivorous animals.

Also, it has an area with nets, bridges, zip lines, slides and animated animal shows. The experts offer talks in order to know in detail the most exotic species of animals.

For its part, Aqua Natura is a water park located next to Terra Natura where you can enjoy incredible water fun.

Viewpoints

In Benidorm you can also enjoy fantastic panoramic views of the city. The best of them can be obtained from the viewpoint of the Gran Hotel Bali, which has a height of 186 meters. You can climb up to its rooftop and see the city and its beautiful beaches.

Another viewpoint worth mentioning is that of La Cruz, which is located at a height of 220 meters. You can access it from the Rincón de Loix, located in the last part of the Levante beach.

Zona de los vascos

A must for lovers of good food and drink is the area known as the Basque Country zone, an area full of bars and restaurants in the purest style of the Basque Country where you can enjoy many pintxos or tapas and a quality hostelry.
